1. Introduction

Soaper App ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Soaper mobile application ("App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the App, including free and premium subscribers.

2. Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting only the minimum amount of information necessary to provide you with a great app experience.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Recipes: Names, ingredients, notes, and calculations you create
  • Inventory: Oil and ingredient inventory data you enter
  • Shopping Lists: Shopping list items you create
  • Batch Records: Soaping session data, photos, and notes
  • Settings: Your app preferences and configuration choices
  • Support Requests: Information you provide when contacting support

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (for app functionality only)
  • Usage Data: Anonymous app usage statistics to improve the app
  • Crash Reports: Technical information about app crashes (collected by Apple)
  • Subscription Status: Whether you have an active premium subscription (stored securely by Apple)

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do NOT collect your name, email address, or phone number (unless you contact support)
  • We do NOT collect your location
  • We do NOT collect your contacts or address book
  • We do NOT collect data from other apps on your device
  • We do NOT track you across websites or other apps
  • We do NOT create advertising profiles about you

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

a) App Functionality

  • To provide core app features like recipe calculations and storage
  • To sync your data across devices via iCloud (Premium feature)
  • To provide Spotlight search and Siri integration (if enabled)
  • To display widgets on your Home Screen

b) Service Improvement

  • To understand how users interact with the App
  • To identify and fix bugs and technical issues
  • To develop new features based on usage patterns

c) Subscription Management

  • To verify your subscription status
  • To provide premium features to subscribers
  • To process subscription transactions (handled by Apple)

d) Advertising (Free Users Only)

  • To display non-personalized advertisements
  • We do NOT use your personal data for ad targeting

e) Legal Compliance

  • To comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • To respond to legal requests and prevent fraud

4. Data Storage

4.1 Local Storage

Your recipes, inventory, shopping lists, and other app data are stored locally on your device using Core Data. This data:

  • Remains on YOUR device and your iCloud account
  • Is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
  • Is NOT accessible to us
  • Is NOT uploaded to our servers

4.2 iCloud Sync (Premium Feature)

Premium subscribers can sync their data across devices using Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services. This sync:

  • Uses Apple's secure CloudKit infrastructure
  • Stores data in YOUR iCloud account (not our servers)
  • Is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Can be disabled in your device's iCloud settings

4.3 Data Ownership

You own all the data you create in the App. Your recipes, notes, and content belong to you.

4.4 Data Portability

You can export your recipes as PDF files at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

5.1 Apple Services

  • App Store: For app distribution and subscription processing
  • StoreKit: For in-app purchase processing
  • CloudKit: For iCloud data synchronization (Premium feature)
  • Spotlight/Siri: For system integration (optional)

5.2 Google AdMob (Free Users Only)

  • Purpose: To display advertisements
  • Data Collected: Device identifiers for ad serving
  • Configuration: Non-personalized ads only
  • Note: Premium subscribers do not see ads

5.3 Analytics

  • We may use anonymized, aggregated analytics to improve the App
  • We do NOT use analytics that identify individual users

6. Advertising

6.1 Free Users

If you use the free version of Soaper, you will see advertisements provided by Google AdMob. These ads are:

  • Non-personalized: We do not use your personal data to target ads
  • Context-based: Ads may be related to the general category of the App
  • Limited tracking: We do not enable cross-app tracking

6.2 Premium Users

Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements.

6.3 App Tracking Transparency

We do NOT request permission to track you across other apps and websites. We have chosen not to participate in cross-app tracking.

6.4 Opting Out

You can remove all ads by subscribing to Soaper Premium.

7. Subscription Data

7.1 What We Store

  • Subscription status (active/inactive)
  • Subscription type (monthly/annual)
  • Trial eligibility status

7.2 What We Do NOT Store

  • Payment information (handled entirely by Apple)
  • Credit card numbers
  • Billing address
  • Apple ID credentials

7.3 How It's Processed

All subscription transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.

7.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple. We do not process refunds directly.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Union).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@soaperapp.com.

IMPORTANT: Soap making involves dangerous chemicals and should only be performed by adults or under adult supervision with proper safety training.

9. Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can view all your data within the App at any time.
  • Export: You can export your recipes as PDF files.
  • Deletion: You can delete any recipe, inventory item, or other data at any time. Deleted data is removed from your device and iCloud.
  • Opt-Out: You can disable Spotlight indexing and Siri integration in Settings > Privacy.
  • Advertising: You can remove ads by subscribing to Premium.
  • Sync: You can disable iCloud sync in your device's Settings.

10. GDPR Rights (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request limitation of data processing.
  • Right to Data Portability: Request transfer of your data.
  • Right to Object: Object to certain types of processing.

12. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party service providers who assist in operating the App (e.g., Apple for iCloud sync, Google AdMob for advertising), bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
  • With Your Consent: In any other situation with your explicit consent.

13. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

  • Local Storage: Data stored on your device is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
  • iCloud Sync: Data synced via iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's security infrastructure.
  • No Server Storage: We do not store your personal data on our servers. Your data remains on your device and in your iCloud account.
  • Subscription Data: Subscription status is verified securely through Apple's StoreKit framework.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Data Retention

  • App Data: Your recipes and app data are retained until you delete them or uninstall the App.
  • iCloud Data: Data synced to iCloud remains until you delete it or disable iCloud sync.
  • Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics may be retained for up to 2 years.
  • Support Requests: Support correspondence is retained for up to 3 years for quality assurance.
  • Account Deletion: To delete all data, delete your content within the App and uninstall the App. iCloud data can be deleted through your iCloud settings.

15. International Data Transfers

Your data is primarily stored locally on your device and in your iCloud account (if enabled).

Apple's CloudKit infrastructure may store data in various locations globally. Apple maintains appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

If you are located outside the United States and choose to use the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective when posted within the App.

We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Displaying a notice within the App
  • Sending a notification (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
